Starting the new year with a new kind of post, focusing on haircare this time! I’ve got a few products I’ve been testing and switching up to see what can actually save my hair. My first post had to go to the queen Erim Kaur (Insta: @erimstagram) and her new hair oil (which has sold out within hours on both launches!).
In terms of my hair profile, I’ve got frizzy hair, but each individual hair is quite fine. My hair is on the drier side and definitely needs TLC to look somewhat presentable. So, when I saw Erim was coming out with a hair oil, and after seeing her ah-mazing hair, I thought I had to give it a try!
See…!
Erim’s an influencer/businesswoman who is such a role model for us brown girls! She’s even incorporated this into her product, using oils our ancestors have been using for decades and decades to smoothen and strengthen their locks.
I started using ByErim just over a month ago in early December 2019. Upon Erim’s recommendations, I’ve been rubbing it lightly into my roots before a gym workout, onto my ends on a dry-hair day and getting a proper Indian head massage from my mum with the oil around once a week.
The difference has been CRAZY.
My hair is soo much healthier, shinier and smoother!
The oil smells sooo good and the scent doesn’t stick around on your hair longer than 10 mins.
It’s also non-greasy, so I’ve had no trouble having it on and going out, and it’s also beard friendly.
ByErim retails for £30 for a 100ml bottle (set to last about 6 months with regular use!) at https://www.byerim.com/. The site also has a lot more in-depth info about the ingredients!
I love supporting brown sisters and I’m so happy with the results so far. Will keep ya updated after I’ve finished the bottle.
PS: should mention that this is definitely not-spon, I’m just a bit obsessed…
Love your review!! I’ve just written a review about my BY Erim experience, would love it if you check it out x

Amazing, lovely results! How long do you leave the oil on? It seems as though some wash it out and others leave it in. How did you use it?

Hi Kimberly, thanks for reading through this post!💕 It depends how you want to use the oil imo! If you’re doing a leave-in before washing your hair, then I find a good 5-10 hrs is good. For me that’s either overnight or while I’m working (from home) and exercising. If you want to leave it in after washing your hair, then focus it on your lengths and ends and don’t go too heavy handed. In that situation, obviously, you’re leaving it in until you wash your hair again.
